Boys from the Blackstuff was grim and brutal, and grimly, brutally hilarious.
Children of the Stones was a very odd kids TV series that scared the shit out of a generation (myself included).
It also had a fantastic Penderecki ish soundtrack that inspired a generation of odd music makers (myself included).
Studio Electrophonique was a tiny council house based studio in fading industrial powerhouse Sheffield that nurtured many of the really great bands of the Sheffield post punk electronic scene. Disgruntled futurists Human League, Vice Versa, Clock DVA and a nascent Pulp all had their knobs twiddled by unknown audio pioneer Ken Patten.
